*FORMER*FAT*GIRL of the WEEK*
SUHWEET! I was honored when Michelle from Secrets of a Former Fat Girl emailed me to ask if I'd be interested in completing the interview questions for her Former Fat Girl of the Week spot.
I remember not long after I started blogging I stumbled across Michelle's weekly feature and read the success story of an amazing woman who had lost an incredible amount of weight and was being recognized for her achievement. I remember following the link to her blog and reading about how excited she was to receive that blog award and how at first it was hard for her to accept the title "former fat girl," when in her mind she was still on a journey and not to a place of feeling she was "formerally fat," rather than still overweight and getting smaller. I read that with about 50 lbs lost at the time thinking, WOW, I would love to be able to be at the place she is...in my mind she WAS a former fat girl.
Now, here I am one year later receiving the same spotlight of weight loss recognition with a similar story..."Former Fat Girl of the Week," but I still have 80 lbs to lose. I'm realizing that "Former Fat Girl of the Week," isn't so much about being skinny or being in "normal range," Former Fat Girl of the Week is a proclamation. A statement shouting loudly, "HEY, I'm not where I was...I'm not my 'former' self." Former Fat Girl of the Week is more about who you've become rather than your weight on the scale. Former Fat Girl of the Week is about everyday, ordinary woman who have decided to take their lives back by healthy living and are succeeding on their journey to do just that!
Verse of the Day:
Psalm 37:4
"Our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we trust in His holy name."
